There are lots of EPOS Systems available, and most link with Line 50. EPOS stands for Electronic Point of Sale.  Epos systems allow you to capture data at the point of sale, frequently this is done using bar code readers, this enables you to know exactly what you have sold and if you also run a loyalty scheme who you have sold it to.  

This data can then be used in lots of ways

  • used to prepare your accounts 
  • make account sales through tills  
  • used to work out what to order and how much, keeping your investment in stock optimised
  • used to work out what makes most profit, so you can place these items in key locations
  • used to work out what sells well, make sure these are spread around the store so customers get to see all the other items you sell
  • identify slow moving and low margin stock
    • Low margin stock may be "loss leaders" and should be positioned to lower visibility areas and placed near to alternatives with better margins with a more prominent display
    • Low margin stock that does not attract customers and or does not sell well can be discontinued
    • Slow moving stock may need to be removed to make way for items that sell better
  • Keep an eye on staff

Sales Order Processing
The sales order is the core of the TEMACS system as from this all other aspects are derived. TEMACS provides a comprehensive sales order entry system to provide for any number of different styles and colours on a single order with each style in up to ten sizes.

Special Orders
Changes to standard styles may be specified as special instructions, without creation of a new style. The instructions will follow the garments through production.

Availability From Finished Stock
As sales orders are entered TEMACS will check the availability of the ordered garments from your finished stock in store. TEMACS allows you to reserve any item in your finished stock store reducing the manufacture load and speeding your response to customers orders.

Multi Currencies
TEMACS provides full multi currency sales order processing. The customers normal payment currency is defaulted onto the order along with the current exchange rate. You are notified of any changes to the exchange rate with the option to adjust the sales order to the new rate if necessary.

Sales Order Processing
Once an order has been confirmed with the customer, the processing section generates all the necessary tickets and stock requirements for fulfillment of the order. TEMACS will immediately make provision for the manufacture of that order throughout the stock and processing modules.

Sales Order Despatch
Complete or part order despatch provides flexibility in fulfillment of orders. TEMACS knows what is available for despatch at any time from either finished stock or manufactured items. TEMACS shows what is available and simple selection allows allocation to boxes with printing of packing notes for each box and complete despatch notes. Should a box go missing in transit, all the information for the box is available from TEMACS.

Sales Order Invoicing
Once despatched, orders may be invoiced either partially or fully using the same tagging procedures as for despatch. Invoices may be generated internally or exported to a linked accounting system. Details of all invoices are held by TEMACS for future reference.

Product Styles Style Details & Analysis
TEMACS records full sales and manufacturing details for each of your styles. Style type and production season provide useful analysis whilst the production details for each style control the manufacture aspects. Detailed standard minute costing analysis combines with the yarn weight of the garment and the other direct materials to provide an estimated production cost.

Multi Coloured Garment Handling
TEMACS handles contrast garments and intarsias as simply as single colour styles. Record the proportions of each colour and TEMACS allows you to record colour mixes for your range. During manufacture, TEMACS will control all aspects of multi colour stock allocation.

Size Ranges & Specifications
Your entire size range for each style and the critical measurement specification may be recorded and is available during processing to minimise production errors. Maintain a standard specification library to copy standard measurements then make changes to the final style specification.

Other Direct Materials (ODMs)
TEMACS gives you complete control of the buttons, zips and ribbons, plastic bags, labels and all other items which combine to form the completed garment packaged and ready to go. All items which may be directly associated with a finished garment may be allocated to the style and TEMACS will control their issue and use in the same uncomplicated way as standard yarn control. There is even an option to automatically record the issue of ODMs as the garment completes processing!

Scanned Images / Photographs
To complete the style library, TEMACS allows you to maintain a graphical library of your styles. Photographs, drawings or scanned images of your garments may be linked to each style record and appear as a miniature picture on the screen. Click on this picture and a full screen picture is displayed which may then be printed directly from TEMACS.

Raw Stock Control Stock ... Colour ... Batch ...
Batches of yarn or material are never exactly the same so TEMACS provides for individual batch control whilst keeping quantity and value totals for stocks and colours.

Stock Appropriation - Automatic & Manual
TEMACS takes the effort out of allocating batches of stock to the requirements for each order. Either let TEMACS carry out the allocations automatically or use the manual routine which leads you through the possible stock allocations.

Stock Issue & Return
Stock can be issued for individual items or complete orders in one simple stage with TEMACS keeping track of the expected returns from the factory floor. Once stock returns are complete, variance reports keep you in touch with any yield problems.

Purchase Order Processing
TEMACS keeps track of the production requirements for future months as well as current factory usage and will automatically recommend stock purchase orders. Orders can be generated automatically and then adjusted manually, if required, before being faxed to your supplier. Record order confirmation details and TEMACS will track expected deliveries.

Manufacture Processing Capacity Planning (SMS)
From the moment a sales order is entered, its affect on the factory capacity may be seen. Using reports or charts, limits on factory output can be easily recognised and corrective action taken. TEMACS will also show areas of work shortfall allowing orders to be brought forward to ease production congestion in busy seasons.

Ticket Processing
TEMACS follows each batch of garments though the factory on tickets. As each stage in the manufacture process is completed TEMACS updates the progress of the sales orders so that up to date information is available for your customers. Barcodes printed on garment swing tickets or washcare labels allow returned garments to be tracked back through the production process to uncover any production problems.

WIP / Production Analysis
Without any additional effort, TEMACS maintains a full work in progress and time sheet history which can be compared with planned Standard Minute (SMS) times to show variance from the expected production schedule.

Store / Finished Stock Finished Stock
As well as your orders, raw materials and production, TEMACS takes care of all your finished stock. With multiple store and individual bay recording TEMACS keeps track of all finished goods whether completed for an order and are awaiting despatch or produced for your stock service.

Sales Orders from Stock (Reservation)
Whether you provide a stock service or simply have produced garments in excess of previous order requirements, TEMACS can alert you of any garments on an order which could be fulfilled from your current finished stock. A garment reserved for an order is immediately marked to prevented it from being allocated by another TEMACS user and traced until the point of despatch.

Other TEMACS Features Barcode Transaction Recording
Using PSION WorkAbout handheld computers you can record transactions throughout the factory. Ticket processing and stock control functions can all be carried out remotely with the information being uploaded to the main TEMACS system when it is convenient. Data entry onto the handheld computer is simplified and made more secure by the comprehensive use of barcodes wherever appropriate.

Graphs & Charts
Let TEMACS convert all your masses of data into easily readable charts and graphs to draw attention directly to the relevant information. TEMACS quickly summarises your stock, sales orders and capacity planning information into graphical form to provide you with an instant picture of your business.

Knitting Lines
TEMACS takes the hard work out of knitting line calculation. Enter the dimensions of each style, set up the parameters for frames and yarn and TEMACS will calculate the instructions for each style in any yarn type on any frame. As well as calculation of the knitting line, TEMACS will assist with your garment costing analysis by calculating an estimated weight for the garment.

Washcare Labels
You normally use woven washcare labels but occasionally you run out or need a small run for a particular customer. With TEMACS you can design and print your own washcare labels to be printed onto fabric along with all standard washcare icons.

EC Reporting
The European Community provides many benefits for import and export, but the reporting requirement is not one of them. TEMACS records all the information necessary to print your EC Import and Export Statistics turning a monthly task into just another report.

TEMACS Link
The TEMACS Factory system provides a central hub for the TEMACS range programs. The TEMACS Office and Shop systems act as satellites, able to communicate with the Factory system using TEMACS Link. The TEMACS Factory system receives sales orders from the satellite systems while the satellite systems are kept up to date with new stocks and styles as well as the progress of the purchase orders which they have placed.

Accounting System Links
TEMACS provides direct links to industry standard accounting systems. TEMACS will exchange data and check information contained in your accounts to provide up to date account details.
