Sage Job Costing 2000 is fully integrated with Sage Line 50 Accountant Plus
or Financial Controller for Windows. The software adopts the same 'look
and feel' as Sage Line 50 and is intuitive yet powerful. Sage Job
Costing 2000 is flexible enough to allow the user to configure the software to
work in the way most suited to the needs of the business.
Key Features
- Enter estimate details. Break an estimate down into four different
cost headings. Estimate totals are displayed in a familiar
spreadsheet style.
- Record costs against a job. You can enter stock issues, timesheets,
purchase invoices/credit notes, sales invoices/credit notes etc. As
well as recording your entries against the relevant jobs, Sage Job Costing
2000 will also seamlessly update Sage Line 50.

- Sage
Job Costing integrates with
Sage Line 50 Financial Controller and Accountant Plus.
During the process of entering
Estimates or Jobs, data is read directly from the Sage Line 50 Product
File and, if appropriate, the sales ledger. When costs are entered
against Jobs, data is automatically written, as appropriate, to the Sage
Line 50 Purchase Ledger, Stock Control and Nominal Ledger. Sales
Invoices raised within Sage Job Costing are automatically written into
the Sage Line 50 invoicing facility.

Jobs
To begin using the
software, a user will first enter details of Labour Categories e.g.
Supervisor, Operative, Apprentice etc. Each category is given a default
hourly rate. Next, details will be entered for individual employees,
placing each employee into a labour category. Finally, Expense Types
need to be set up e.g. Travelling and Subsistence. There are no limits
to the number of Labour Categories, Employees or Expense Types that may
be used.
Using the
information outlined above, plus data drawn as necessary from Sage Line
50, the user may now enter and save Estimates. Four Cost Categories are
used throughout the software – Labour, Stock Materials, Non-Stock
Materials and Other Expenses. Those Estimates which are successful can
be automatically converted to jobs for further processing.
A report is provided
to show the proportion of successful estimates by value and number.
Costs are
accumulated against Jobs and analysed under the four cost categories.
Labour costs can be further analysed as to "Non-Chargeable"
time types. A summary screen enables actual costs to be compared
directly against estimates with a "Drill-Down" facility to see
a list of transactions making up the totals.
Sales Invoices may
be raised from within Sage Job Costing. Details are then transferred
into the Sage Line 50 Invoicing facility, from where can be printed out
and posted in the normal way.
